GWSSA has implemented a new billing cycle for our irrigation customers. Previously, the customer paid for the season’s water before the season began. Then, if there were pumping or overage charges, they would be billed on the following year’s invoice. This was confusing and frustrating for many.
The new billing cycle will be in the beginning of November for the same year’s water. It will include any pumping and/or overage charges for that same year. The bills will be due at the end of December. This change will help many with their taxes and provide a clearer picture of that year’s water costs. If you would like to pay ahead, you are welcome to. We will hold the credit on your account until billing.
If you are receiving an invoice with this letter, it is solely for overage and pumping charges for the 2020 water year. You will still receive a bill in November for 2021’s water.
2021 Invoices will be sent at the end of the season 2021 – November 1 Invoices are due December 31, 2021
We hope the change will be helpful for most during the pandemic by extending the payment until November. GWSSA policy on non-payment of water remains unchanged. Water will be shut off if the previous season’s bill is unpaid. If the bill remains unpaid, the board will reallocate the water in June. Payment arrangements are available.
